Father's Day Gift Ideas

Morning! With Father’s Day not too far around the corner, families across the country will be coming up with all sorts of fun and creative ways to celebrate the occasion—knowing that the usual roast dinner at the local pub, or large family barbecue in the garden, is almost guaranteed to be off-limits.

But should we let this ongoing period of self-isolation stop us showing that special fella in our life that we care? No, is the answer to that. If anything, in challenging times, it’s more of a reason to extend some love to all those hard-working, caring fathers.

With perhaps more time on their hands than usual at the moment, there’s likely a sea of restless dads out there who’ve suddenly discovered their inner DIY-wizard and are busy tinkering with shelves, building sheds or generally hitting things with hammers. If that’s the case, why not treat him to a personally engraved one?

For grandparents, this can be a particularly difficult time, as so many have had their contact with their sons, daughters and grandchildren restricted. Many won’t have seen their families for weeks—or longer. A good way to show grandad that he’s in your thoughts might be to send him a photograph of his temporarily estranged family, set in a personalised photo frame. For that extra dose of character, these handmade frames can be engraved with a child’s handwriting. It could really brighten up his day.

JUST THE TONIC

We also have a range of kitchen products for the budding chef and drinks connoisseur. With summer on its way, I’m sure plenty of dads imagine themselves as a Cocktail-era Tom Cruise— capable of whipping up the perfect gin and tonic at a moment’s notice. Why not let them hone their skills with the gift of a handmade gin and tonic chopping board. These solid oak blocks—ideal for slicing lemons, limes and herbs on—can be engraved with any slogan or personal message you like.

Maybe cocktails aren’t his thing. For the brew-loving dads out there, we’ve got some nifty hand-crafted drinks coasters which, again, can be personalised with any loving message—or you can choose from a range of existing designs. The possibilities are endless and I’m always happy to discuss any ideas you might have to create an original engraved coaster.

Let’s not forget about the tech enthusiasts. This mobile phone holder, suitable for watching videos or reading on a tablet or phone, could be an invaluable gift for someone who’s self-isolating or shielding during the CoronaVirus epidemic. These robust little units are hand-crafted from bamboo—a notoriously sturdy material and ecologically sustainable to boot.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS...

There’s certainly plenty of gift ideas to choose from. Maybe too many! If you do find yourself overwhelmed by the sheer number of options available for your dearest dad—or maybe he’s just a bit...fussy—why not let him make the decision. I’d be delighted to hand-deliver some special gift vouchers so he can treat himself whenever he likes.

Most importantly, I hope all the dads out there have a wonderful Father’s Day. It might not be exactly what you had planned, but at least with these thoughtful personalised gifts, you know that there are plenty of people out there thinking of you.

Have a gin and tonic or a nice hot brew on me!
